TO DO IN 2012:
-Quit smoking (We are 5 days in and everything seems to be going well!)
-Talk to a credit counselor and get my student loan debt in check so that I can…
-Enroll in college again! I’m pretty sure I’ve landed on a career path I feel comfortable with and am excited about for the first time in my life (well, since I was a wee lass on my way to the big city and thought I had everything figured out). I know that with the mountain of debt I accumulated the first time around, the mess may not be completely cleaned up by the end of 2012, but I will hopefully be on the right track to gettin’ some schoolin’.
-SAVE SAVE SAVE! Our living costs have been cut way back since we moved to Clinton (and since we have quit smoking!), but we have still been struggling! I’m currently searching for a new job (which kind of breaks my heart, but what are you gonna do?) and Rob is starting school this month and looking for something part time. I hope that within the next couple weeks we will have a more regular income and I can actually use the 2 savings accounts we have bled dry!
-Take a freaking vacation! Don’t care where!
-Build a tiny play kitchen for my niece! I’ve been seeing a ton of adorable ones on pinterest lately that I’m in love with! (See above) I’ve also got a whole craft/design/build list going in my head I need to put down here, but I’ll just start with this project!
HOUSE TO DOS
-CLEAN AND PAINT! We have worked hard thus far and have ALMOST every room where it’s functional. We really only have one more room that needs a major cleaning (which is piled ceiling high with boxes, furniture and god knows what else). We still have SIX more rooms to paint!
-Build a closet out of the giant cave that’s connected to our bedroom. Since it’s pretty much bare bones, it’s going to be a big fix (no floor, no electricity, no insulation, no walls!)
-Completely overhaul at least one of our bathrooms. Ripping shit up and out! These bathrooms are probably the one place in the house where nothing is worth saving.
-Replace one of the windows in the dining room with a door to the porch. We eventually want to screen that portion in as well.
-Oh, and finally get started on the blog Rob wants to do about us doing all of this work! I’ve got the basics in place on the blog, and have been keeping photos of all of the before/afters as we do them. Just need to take the time to sort it all out and get to blogging!
So yeah, there it is. My year in a nutshell!
